Nigeria Democratic Congress national leader Seriake Dickson has held another meeting with the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and running mate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, in Abuja as preparations for the 2027 elections gather pace.
The former Bayelsa State governor said the meeting was part of the party’s continuing consultations on political and national issues.
Dickson disclosed that the latest engagement was aimed at further deliberations and reaching final decisions on important matters concerning the party, particularly as it prepares to unveil its Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement shared on his verified X handle on Thursday, Dickson said he met with Obi and Kwankwaso alongside the party’s National Chairman and other leaders.
He explained that the meeting followed another engagement held two days earlier, indicating that consultations among the party’s leadership are continuing as preparations for the elections intensify.
According to Dickson, the discussions are intended to strengthen the party’s preparations and ensure that necessary decisions are taken before the unveiling of the Campaign Council.
The former governor also called on party stakeholders, aspirants and members to unite ahead of the elections, urging them to set aside differences and close ranks in the interest of the party.
He stressed the need for members to work collectively toward securing victory for the party’s candidates across the various levels of the 2027 elections.
The latest meeting comes amid increasing political activity ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political parties and their leaders stepping up consultations, alliances and preparations for the forthcoming contest.
