Fresh moves are unfolding within the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 presidential election as National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda meets the party’s campaign Director-General, Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, just days after President Bola Tinubu unveiled his re-election campaign council.
Yilwatda visited Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State, at his Maitama residence on Monday, three days after President Bola Tinubu unveiled the campaign council for his bid to secure another term in office.
Details of the meeting were not made public as of the time of filing the report, but the engagement comes as the APC begins to put its campaign structure in place for the 2027 general elections. Yari was named Director-General of the council by President Tinubu, giving him a major coordinating role in the ruling party’s re-election campaign.
