Senate President Godswill Akpabio has expressed frustration over the recurring malfunction of microphones in the National Assembly, warning that legal action could be taken against the contractor responsible for the renovation.

Speaking during plenary, Akpabio said the technical faults had repeatedly disrupted proceedings and embarrassed both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

He noted that the same contractor handled the renovation of both legislative chambers.

The Senate President said the National Assembly would consider legal measures if the contractor failed to rectify the defects.

He added that lawmakers were witnesses to the repeated failures and should understand the reasons behind any future action taken against the contractor.
