Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has stirred political debate after declaring that the All Progressives Congress will dominate elections at all levels in Kano State, while dismissing the chances of the African Democratic Congress.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made the remarks on Saturday while addressing supporters at the Government House in Kano, shortly after returning from Abuja where he attended the APC National Convention and the Northwest Zonal Congress in Kaduna.

In a bold political statement, the governor declared that the APC remains the only party capable of winning elections in Kano and across Nigeria, expressing confidence in the ruling party’s strength ahead of future polls.

He further dismissed the opposition, particularly the ADC, saying the party would not secure even a single term in Kano State.

Yusuf, who recently faced speculation over his political alignment, insisted that his focus remains on securing a second term, now under the APC platform.

He also reaffirmed Kano State’s support for President Bola Tinubu, pledging backing for his re-election bid in 2027.

The governor urged residents not to be influenced by what he described as political excitement surrounding opposition parties, insisting that the APC remains the most viable platform for governance and development.

He also highlighted his administration’s commitment to key sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, and youth empowerment, as part of efforts to sustain development in the state.

His return to Kano was marked by a large turnout of supporters at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, with party loyalists escorting his convoy through major streets amid chants and displays of support.

The remarks come at a time of growing political activity across Nigeria, as parties position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections, setting the stage for intensified political competition in Kano and beyond.
