The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the next phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will begin on May 11, 2026, and run through July 10, offering a crucial final window for eligible Nigerians to register and update their voter information ahead of upcoming elections.

The commission said the exercise represents the third and final phase of the nationwide registration programme, scheduled to end on July 10, 2026.

INEC explained that it paused the previous phase to review and clean up the voter register after opening it for public scrutiny and objections.

The commission noted that the new phase will provide another chance for Nigerians who have reached voting age or missed earlier registration periods.

It also encouraged registered voters to update their records, transfer their registration, or replace damaged or missing voter cards during the exercise.

Citizens can complete the process through INEC’s online platform or by visiting designated offices across the country.

INEC added that the voter register will be displayed for verification between July 23 and July 29 to ensure transparency and accuracy.

The commission assured the public that preparations have been completed to guarantee a seamless process and called on all eligible Nigerians to take part.
