INEC has formally concluded the February 21 Area Council elections by presenting certificates of return to AMAC Chairman Christopher Maikalangu, his deputy Mohammed Nadabo, and other winners across the FCT.

The commission described the ceremony as the final step in confirming six chairmen, their deputies, and 62 councillors elected in the polls.

Resident Electoral Commissioner Aminu Idris congratulated the winners and reminded them that their victory represents a serious responsibility to serve the people.

Maikalangu announced that his administration would prioritise grassroots development, revealing that about 80 percent of upcoming projects would focus on rural areas.

He called for unity among political opponents and stressed that governance must rise above rivalry.

Nadabo promised a people-centred approach that will address the specific needs of each ward without raising unrealistic expectations.
