Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) President-elect, Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, says she will work to heal divisions within the Association, strengthen unity and engage stakeholders before assuming office at the end of August.
Speaking after meeting President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, she said consultations with members and stakeholders were already underway to resolve grievances and promote reconciliation.
She assured lawyers that her administration would do everything necessary to restore unity and strengthen the association.
Badejo-Okusanya also disclosed that her discussions with President Tinubu centred on improving electronic voting and the deployment of technology in the NBA’s electoral process.
She said the President congratulated her on her election and encouraged continuous improvements to the association’s electoral system.
The NBA president-elect is expected to be sworn into office at the end of August as the association’s first female elected president.
