The Federal Government has maintained that Nigeria remains safe following the United States’ decision to withdraw non-essential staff from its embassy in Abuja.
The US had raised concerns over insecurity and issued a travel advisory urging its citizens to reconsider visiting Nigeria. It also temporarily halted visa services in Abuja. Despite this, the government says the situation is under control.
Information Minister Mohammed Idris explained that the move by the US was precautionary, stressing that there is no general collapse of security across the country.
According to him, security agencies are actively addressing threats in affected areas, with ongoing operations yielding results.
He added that Nigeria remains open for business, travel, and investment, urging the public to remain calm.
