Human rights advocate Femi Falana has voiced concern over the welfare of schoolchildren being held by terrorists, describing their conditions as painful and unacceptable.

Speaking at the EndBadGovernance demonstration in Lagos on Friday, Falana said the victims kidnapped from Oyo and Borno states continue to endure hardship while being kept in forest hideouts.

He noted that the children are reportedly surviving without adequate food, healthcare and other essential support, making their continued captivity a national concern.

Falana appealed to the government and security agencies to intensify rescue operations and ensure the safe return of all abducted children.

Beyond the security crisis, he also highlighted the economic struggles facing Nigerians, including widespread poverty and hunger.

According to him, the nation’s economic challenges are not caused by a lack of resources but by failures in management and leadership.

He urged government officials to pursue policies that improve citizens’ welfare, insisting that Nigeria has the capacity to provide a better standard of living for its people.
