Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has taken a hard stance against banditry, declaring that armed criminals responsible for terrorising communities do not deserve another opportunity to live.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, the governor described bandits as terrorists whose actions have caused immense pain and loss across the country.
He noted that many communities have suffered deadly attacks, kidnappings and destruction at the hands of armed groups operating in different regions.
According to Sani, people who deliberately kill innocent citizens and subject families to hardship should not be treated with leniency.
The governor argued that terrorism in any form must be confronted decisively, stressing that those involved should be removed from society.
He maintained that there should be no distinction between terrorists and bandits, insisting that both groups engage in similar acts of violence and criminality.
Sani said the scale of suffering inflicted on victims makes it difficult to justify granting perpetrators another chance.
He called for sustained efforts by security agencies to combat terrorism and restore peace in affected communities.
