The chairmanship candidate of the African Democratic Congress for Abuja Municipal Area Council Moses Paul has openly warned FCT Minister Nyesom Wike against any attempt to manipulate results in the February 21 council election.
Paul popularly known as Dr Mo declared that the will of the people must prevail and insisted that vote writing would not be tolerated in the Federal Capital Territory.
He told supporters in Abuja that AMAC is not Obio Akpor and warned that no one can impose results on residents of the capital city.
Paul stressed that residents have shown political strength in past elections and vowed to defend every ballot cast.
He revealed that he had previously led a 23 day protest in 2023 and was detained by the DSS where he claimed he was offered incentives which he rejected.
According to him Senator Ireti Kingibe and Obika Joshua stand as proof that votes in the FCT truly count.
He urged the minister to stay away from the electoral process and allow citizens exercise their democratic rights freely.
Paul accused the current leadership of failing residents and promised boldness decisiveness and fearless governance if elected.
He declared that Abuja belongs to its people and not to any individual insisting that residents are ready for change.
As tension builds ahead of the polls the AMAC candidate’s warning signals a fierce political battle in the nation’s capital.
