FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says his administration will not allow car racing in Abuja residential communities, directing authorities to investigate the activities and insisting that public safety must come before recreational interests.

Speaking during an inspection of ongoing road projects in the FCT, Wike said the government would investigate reports of illegal street racing and take appropriate action.

He maintained that those interested in the sport should use approved racing locations instead of residential neighbourhoods where lives and property could be endangered.

The minister stressed that protecting residents remains a priority, adding that recreational activities should never come at the expense of public safety. He also assured residents that key road projects across the capital city would be completed as scheduled to improve transportation and quality of life
