Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf says the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa by-election has revealed the weakness of opposition forces in Kano, insisting the APC remains the state’s dominant political party.

Reacting to the election result, Yusuf argued that the APC’s performance demonstrated strong public backing and reinforced the party’s position ahead of future electoral contests.

The governor praised voters for their turnout and peaceful conduct throughout the exercise, describing the election as a true reflection of the wishes of the people.

He also applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for their roles in ensuring a smooth and credible process.

Yusuf noted that the successful conduct of the by-election would help strengthen confidence in Nigeria’s democratic system and encourage greater participation in future elections.

Congratulating the APC candidate on his victory, the governor urged him to focus on effective service delivery and responsive representation for the people of the constituency.

The governor criticised the Nigeria Democratic Congress for staying out of the race, describing the party as lacking the structure and support required to challenge established political forces.

He added that the by-election result once again underscored APC’s strong foothold across Kano State.
